Dirty Detox

Links on akweb.org are no longer updated/maintained.

This website was made as part of an employee grievance against a drug rehab and detox.
The detox unit closed and has since reopened. It is now certainly much better run.

The website is left up for reference and will not be updated except to remove material. If you see something on the website that you feel is inappropriate, for whatever reason, contact me and it will be removed.

Final conclusion of the website. Suggestions on how to run a detox / rehab.

1) Don't ban people. Most of the people banned at Clitheroe were banned for things like high blood pressure, but even a ban for misconduct should not be permanent. The purpose of the facility is either to help people or it isn't.

2) Run the facility honestly. A well run facility has no need for crookedness.

3) Focus on tested methods. Things like Naltrexone might not come with any financial incentive for the facility, but when they are indicated they should be used.

4) Religious credentials should not carry any weight in a facility that is funded by the government, especially when it is the only such facility available to many clients.

5) Have a genuine grievance process where both clients and employees can complain about misconduct. If the goal of management is to have a quality facility, grievances should not be avoided.
